I was thrilled to travel to Nashville, the capital city of Tennessee in the U.S this spring, excited by its rich history, vibrant culture and renowned music scene.

It has a reputation for being a party city, but I was eager to dig deeper and discover what else was on offer, which as it turned out was a lot more than just the dozens of, admittedly fun, honky-tonks on its Broadway strip where live music seems to run around the clock.

Music City is the moniker you can’t avoid in Nashville, and for a nerdy fan like me it felt at times like being in heaven. It’s not just about country tunes either – Aretha Franklin, Adele, Elton JohnKings of Leon, Kesha and The Black Keys are among the contemporary artists who have recorded here.
