Thirty years ago Nashville’s rock scene was not the thriving hotbed it is known for today. In fact, it was barely hanging on life support. Enter Chagall Guevara, part of a fresh cast of music makers—recent arrivals to “the Music City.” Oblivious to the low bar of expectation for rock bands, the group set its sights on getting noticed by record companies in Los Angeles and New York. Word spread fast as they made the jump from sold out local shows, to opening act slots for the alternative rock darlings of the day, to signing with a major label, and quickly becoming a critics’ darling.

Over 30 years from their heralded national debut, Chagall Guevara has returned to the studio with their original co-producer, Matt Wallace (Maroon 5, The Replacements, Faith No More, Train, O.A.R.) The result is Halcyon Days—a fierce, burning collection of songs that are assertive, immediate, and remarkably timely.
